Impact Band was co-founded in Charleston, SC by husband and wife Michael Flatley and Amanda Murdock to end the choice every athlete with a smartwatch has to make.
How Impact Band was built
The problem: Desk all day. Soccer at night.
Michael spent up to 10 hours a day at a desk and couldn't close his rings. So he joined a co-rec soccer league after work, and ran straight into the take-it-off-or-risk-it problem.
The search: Nothing soft existed
He looked everywhere for soft protection for his Apple Watch. There wasn't any. So he teamed up with Amanda, whose career is in fitness and wellness, to build it.
The grind: Three years of prototypes
Designers, factories, and prototype after prototype. Every version had to protect the watch, stay on through contact, and let you keep tracking.
The breakthrough: D3O® inside
They found D3O®, the soft impact material used in protective gear, and built it into a padded band that slides right over your watch.
Today: Impact Band
